The doctor will ask about your symptoms and do a physical exam. You have to undergo blood tests such as liver function tests, prothrombin time, and tests for viral hepatitis. Imaging tests such as ultrasound, and in selected cases, a CT scan or MRI may be needed. Occasionally, a liver biopsy may be needed to get a clear diagnosis and check for liver damage.
Ways to prevent hepatitis
A patient infected with hepatitis should get regular check-ups from the doctor. This infection spreads more during the monsoon, so avoid the consumption of oily, spicy, non-vegetarian, and heavy foods during this season. Fast food cakes, pastries, chocolates, alcohol, etc. should be avoided. Apart from this, green vegetables, citrus fruits containing vitamin C,
