We have Microsoft SharePoint 365 installed in our company, We got an requirement from the HR management that they want to do an Live Webcast. Is it possible integrate in SharePoint an url of a smooth streaming flow as http://.../.././....isml/Manifest
Eric Elbaz Mar 30, 2015 12:17 PM Correct Answer
Hi Davide, Thank you for providing me with the additional information. The isml Manifest can not be played directly in the browser as smoothstream is not native to the browsers. You will need a smooth stream player embedded in the page which will use the http://h3gsmooth2101-s.akamaihd.net/live/231428_231429/Virtual_Channel_2101.isml/Manifest URL. Example of your stream using an Akamai Test Player As an example take a a look at the Akamai Support - Silverlight Test Player (I've configured this debug player to work with your manifest URL) Do you currently have an HTML5 smooth stream player? Take a look through this tutorial for more information. https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj573656%28v=vs.90%29.aspx Here an embed example using the Azure test player: I hope this helps clarify things a bit for you. Please feel free to engage your Akamai team as well. Regards, --Eric See the reply in context

Hi Davide, Thanks for posting your question to the Akamai Community. You can certainly accomplish embedding Microsoft Smooth Stream live or on demand in SharePoint as well as set this up on IIS depending on the workflow you are looking for. You would use the smooth stream player plugin for desktop or html5. However, I would need to know a little more information on your intended live workflow to advise you further here. To experience the Akamai Smooth Streaming experience, please visit www.smoothhd.com Do let me know if you have additional questions or if you would like to find out how Akamai can help you integrate live smooth streaming into your organization's existing organizational setup. Hi Eric, You can find here more details. Our live feed is being encoded in MS Smooth Streaming format (encoder Digital Rapids) and then pushed on an IIS local server. The local IIS server uplink the stream as http post on two Akamai Entry Points on the network. We’ve been asked to start a service of Live Webcast on our company Intranet that is currently using Sharepoint Online as part of Microsoft Office 365. We need then to integrate one of our live smooth streaming services already configured on Akamai in the SharePoint server in order to transmitted the video at the employees. Could we play the Smooth Streaming stream using the delivery url of Akamai in the html5 web page? We attempted to use our delivery URL: http://h3gsmooth2101-s.akamaihd.net/live/231428_231429/Virtual_Channel_2101.isml/Manifest but all attempt failed Thanks in advance Ciao Davide Actions
