Experiential Learning at Mason High School and the Mason City School District, also known as internships, involves the acquisition of professional experiences through a variety of methods. This practice often includes fieldwork, job shadowing, exposure to professionals through guest speakers, and internships. At Mason High School these experiences can also result in the award of academic credits. Employers are sending a clear message. Earning your high diploma is not enough. Even earning a college degree is not enough. Employers want potential employees who have acquired knowledge, skills, and experience that are directly relatable to their field of employment. Mason City Schools and Mason High School place an emphasis on the importance of experiential learning and the role it plays in the development and growth of our students as well as providing resources to local employers, business, and organizations.
