10 Key LMS Reports You Should Use in 2026 Stay ahead in corporate learning by tracking the most impactful training metrics your LMS can offer. 1. Course Completion Report This report shows which employees have fully completed a course and which have not. It is often the first step in tracking training effectiveness. Completion data helps HR and managers monitor learning compliance and keep teams accountable. It can also be used during audits or annual reviews. Leaders often use this report to flag overdue tasks and reward on-time learners. In high-risk industries, this report ensures that safety or legal training is completed on time. 2. Learner Progress Report Progress reports give a more detailed view beyond course completion. They show how far along a learner is in a module, helping trainers identify where learners drop off. If many people stop at a certain section, it may signal confusing content or technical issues. These insights can guide content redesign or targeted support for slower learners. 3. Assessment Report This report focuses on learner performance in quizzes, exams, and assessments. It highlights scores, pass/fail status, and attempts per test. Assessment results help organizations understand how well learners are absorbing material. It can also identify training gaps or validate whether course updates are effective. For certifications, it is often used to determine if employees are truly job ready. 4. Engagement Report An engagement report measures learner behaviour how often they log in, how long they spend on courses, and how actively they interact. High engagement often signals interest and motivation. Low engagement may show a need for better content or reminders. This report is crucial for remote workforces where managers cannot physically check in. 5. Certification Report This report tracks issued certifications, renewal dates, and expiry alerts. It ensures compliance, especially in regulated industries like healthcare, construction, and finance. It provides proof that employees are certified for specific roles and helps HR stay ahead of deadlines. It is also useful during client audits or legal inspections. 6. Training History Report
A training history report is a full learning log. It records every course assigned, attempted, completed, and scored. It is commonly used during employee reviews, internal promotions, or to confirm whether someone is eligible for a new project or client work. This report supports transparency in learning and builds trust in performance discussions. 7. Team Performance Report This report groups learning data by department or team. It allows leadership to compare training performance across different units. For example, if one region’s team has lower completion rates, managers can look into resource issues or engagement gaps. It helps with planning team-based training sessions or incentives for high-performing groups. 8. Content Usage Report This report shows which courses are accessed most, how long learners spend on them, and how often they are completed. It helps L&D teams decide which content to update, remove, or expand. Courses with low usage might be outdated or irrelevant, while high-usage content may be worth improving or repurposing. 9. Feedback and Survey Report Feedback reports capture learner opinions after training. They often include ratings, comments, and suggestions. These insights are valuable because they reflect the learner’s experience directly. Companies can improve training relevance, delivery, and design using this report. When used properly, learner feedback boosts satisfaction and overall training quality. 10. Custom Report Builder Not every business fit into standard reporting templates.
