Kuala Lumpur Kuala Lumpur, officially the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur, or more commonly KL, is the national capital of Malaysia as well as its largest city. The only alpha world city in Malaysia, it covers an area of 243 km2 (94 sq mi) and has an estimated population of 1.73 million as of 2016. Greater Kuala Lumpur, also known as the Klang Valley, is an urban agglomeration of 7.25 million people as of 2017. It is among the fastest growing metropolitan regions in South-East Asia, in both population and economic development. Kuala Lumpur is the capital of Malaysia. Its modern skyline is dominated by the 451mtall Petronas Twin Towers, a pair of glass-and-steel-clad skyscrapers with Islamic motifs. The towers also offer a public skybridge and observation deck. The city is also home to British colonial-era landmarks such as the Kuala Lumpur Railway Station and the Sultan Abdul Samad Building. Kuala Lumpur is also known for its shopping and dining, with options ranging from large malls and contemporary restaurants to shophouses and food stalls. The Golden Triangle area’s Bukit Bintang district offers designer boutiques, luxury department stores and glitzy retail and entertainment complexes. Small, colorful shops dot Brickfields (Little India) and Chinatown, whose art deco Central Market houses numerous craft sellers. Malaysian arts and history are on view at the National Museum and the Islamic Arts Museum. At the city’s northern edge is Batu Caves, natural limestone caverns housing Hindu temples. PETRONAS TOWERS The Petronas Towers, also known as the Petronas Twin Towers, are twin skyscrapers in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Once the world's tallest, these 88-story towers bear a modern Islamic design & a visitor skybridge.
2. KUALA LUMPUR BIRD PARK Kuala Lumpur Bird Park is a 20.9-acre public aviary in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It is a popular tourist attraction in the country, receiving an annual average of 200,000 visitors. It is located adjacent to the Lake Gardens. Thousands of colorful birds in free-roaming areas, walk-through aviaries & traditional enclosures.
3. KUALA LUMPUR TOWER The Kuala Lumpur Tower is a communications tower located in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Its construction was completed on 1 March 1995. One of the world's tallest, this landmark tower offers scenic city views & a revolving restaurant.
4. AQUARIA KLCC The Aquaria KLCC is an oceanarium located beneath Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre within Kuala Lumpur City Centre in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Expansive aquarium offering 5,000 exhibits, a clear tunnel, feeding shows & shark cage dives.
5. MERDEKA SQUARE, KUALA LUMPUR Dataran Merdeka is a square located in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It is situated in front of the Sultan Abdul Samad Building. This landmark square has a 96m flagpole to mark the site of the first Malayan flag-raising.
6. BATU CAVES Batu Caves is a limestone hill that has a series of caves and cave temples in Wangshu, Gombak, Selangor, Malaysia. It takes its name from the Sungai Batu, which flows past the hill. It is the tenth limestone hill from Ampang. Limestone caves at the top of steep steps housing Hindu temples & shrines, plus a huge deity statue.
7. THEAN HOU TEMPLE The Thean Hou Temple is a 6-tiered temple to the Chinese sea goddess Mazu located in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It is located on 1.67 acres of land atop Robson Heights on Lorong Bellamy, overlooking Jalan Syed Putra. 6-tiered temple built in 1989 featuring a prayer hall with 3 altars & ornate, colorful details.
8. SULTAN ABDUL SAMAD BUILDING The Sultan Abdul Samad Building is a late nineteenth century building located along Jalan Raja in front of the Dataran Merdeka and the Royal Selangor Club in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Grand 1800s government building featuring copper domes & a large clocktower with a 1-ton bell.
9. NATIONAL MONUMENT (TUGU NEGARA) The National Monument is a sculpture that commemorates those who died in Malaysia's struggle for freedom, principally against the Japanese occupation during World War II and the Malayan Emergency, which lasted from 1948 until 1960. Round 41m obelisk honoring those who died in the 1945 Battle of Surabaya against the British.
10. NATIONAL ZOO OF MALAYSIA The National Zoo is a zoo in Malaysia located on 110 acres of land in Ulu Klang, Gombak District, and Selangor, Malaysia. It was officially opened on 14 November 1963 by the country's first Prime Minister, Tunku Abdul Rahman. Zoo Negara Malaysia is managed by the Malaysian Zoological Society, a nongovernmental organization established to create the first local zoo for Malaysians. Zoo Negara was officially opened on 14th November 1963 and has matured into a well-known zoo all around the world. We have a total of over 5137 specimen from 476 species of mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians and fish.
11. NATIONAL MOSQUE OF MALAYSIA The National Mosque of Malaysia is a mosque in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It has a capacity for 15,000 people and is situated among 13 acres of beautiful gardens. Hosting up to 15,000 worshippers, Malaysia's national mosque has gardens, a library & a prayer hall.
12. KL UPSIDE DOWN HOUSE KL Upside Down House is first in Kuala Lumpur and the highest in Malaysia with height 2 floor building. House designed with real size and all upside down. House concept "Cottage House" can attract tourists' interest whether from within country and overseas to pictorial. All structures in and out house from roof until floor, furniture and equipment that there is upside down condition. 13. BERJAYA TIMES SQUARE THEME PARK Berjaya Times Square Theme Park is an indoor theme park on the 5th to 8th floors of Berjaya Times Square, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Step in to a world of fun, excitement & laughter. The Berjaya Times Square Theme Park features a stunning 133,000 square feet of wholesome family entertainment. Based on The Malaysian Book of Records this theme park was a Malaysia's Largest Indoor Theme Park.
14. PETROSAINS, THE DISCOVERY CENTRE Modern museum focused on the science & technology of the energy industry, with a cafe & gift shop. Petrosains is a Science Discovery Centre that uses a fun and interactive approach to tell the story of the science and technology of the energy industry. The sequence of the exhibits in Petrosains traces the evolution and scientific relevance of the energy industry while also focusing on general science and its application to everyday life. The hands-on approach adopted by Petrosains puts an emphasis on the fun and excitement of learning rather than on the rigorous memorisation of scientific facts.
15. PUSAT SAINS NEGARA Pusat Sains Negara or National Science Centre is a science centre in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. In line with the government insight to produce a contributing generation to the field of science and technology, the National Science Centre has been given a mandate to build a scientific society. The proposal to establish the National Science Centre arises from one of the strategic challenges listed by Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad in a paperwork entitled Malaysia-The Way Forward established in 1992 which reads: “The sixth is the challenge of establishing a scientific and progressive society, a society that is innovative and forward looking, one that is not only a consumer of technology but also a contributor to the scientific and technological civilization of the future.”
