Financial Advisor John Mateyko, APMA®, WMCP™, RICP®, serves as a Fiduciary Financial Planner and Managing Partner at IDEX Financial. His professional insights have appeared in Forbes, Fortune, MarketWatch, Business Insider, TED, NY Weekly, CEO Weekly, LA Wire, Chicago Journal, San Francisco Post, and BuzzFeed. John graduated from Augustana College in 1998 and launched his Wall Street career with Dean Witter in New York City in 1999. From there, he went on to advise at some of the country’s top financial institutions including Atlas Securities, US Bancorp, Chase and Fifth Third Securities. He founded IDEX Financial in 2010, with headquarters inside Zurich Towers in Schaumburg, Illinois. In 2018, the firm expanded to Atlanta, Georgia through acquisition. John Mateyko is committed to continued academic growth and is currently pursuing his CIMA certification through the Yale School of Management. He also holds the APMA®, WMCP™ and RICP® credentials from the College for Financial Planning and The American College of Financial Services. Currently based in the distinctive community of Serenbe in rural Georgia (featured on the Today Show), John founded the Serenbe Athletic Association in 2021 and serves as Commissioner for co-ed Chicago-style softball and kickball. He also brings a long history of youth coaching, dating back to his years in Schiller Park, Illinois (2008–2013) and later in Serenbe (2020–2021). John Mateyko has also worked in film and theatre. He served as Christian Bale’s parttime stand-in for Batman Begins (2005) and Public Enemies (2009). Inspired by his love for the arts, he founded the SMZ Community Theater Group—raising over $451,000 in support of Acton Academy in Serenbe. He produced and directed The Trial of Ebenezer
Scrooge (2021) and is now preparing It’s a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play for December 2023. Personally, John Mateyko proposed to his wife Slavyana at Neuschwanstein Castle in Germany, honeymooned on the Amalfi Coast, and later took a babymoon through Rome and Lake Como. Their son Sasha now attends summer camp at TASIS in Lugano, Switzerland. Outside of finance, John is an outdoor adventurer—scuba diving in the Philippines, Hawaii, Mexico, Costa Rica, Italy, Portugal, and even inside the whale shark exhibit at the Georgia Aquarium. He has competed and won the Midwinters San Francisco Bay Race as part of the foredeck crew on a Beneteau 50 and has biked down the Haleakala volcano in Maui.
