Overtimes, shootouts and shutouts. Saturday saw a bit of everything in the CSSHL. MIDGET PREP DIVISION Northern Alberta Xtreme (4) Pacific Coast Hockey Academy (2) Penticton, B.C. – Ty Marcinkowski (Camrose, AB) stopped 20-of-22 shots fired his way as the Northern Alberta Xtreme took a 4-2 win over the Pacific Coast Hockey Academy. Kyle Hogan (Sherwood Park, AB) led the offensive charge for Northern Alberta with a goal and assist, while Sean Kanervisto (Columbis, OH) kept Pacific Coast in it with a 37-save performance. BOXSCORE Okanagan Hockey Academy Red (4) Delta Hockey Academy (2) Penticton, B.C. – Harris Shoemaker (West Vancouver, BC) made 40 saves, while Matthew Byrne (Penticton, BC) scored twice as Okanagan Hockey Academy Red skated to a 4-2 win over the Delta Hockey Academy. Ethan McLaughlin (Penticton, BC) chipped in with a goal and two helpers, while Jaden Senkoe (Westlock, AB) added a single. BOXSCORE Yale Hockey Academy (8) Pursuit of Excellence (3) Kelowna, B.C. – Aiden De La Gorgendiere (Langley, BC) had a five-point outing, scoring once and setting up four more, as the Yale Hockey Academy were 8-3 winners overs the Pursuit of Excellence. Jonathan Krahn (Chilliwack, BC) and Tyson Phare (Maple Ridge, BC) each finished with two goals on the day, while Campbell Arnold (Nanaimo, BC) made 31 saves in the Yale crease. BOXSCORE OHA Edmonton (3) Okanagan Hockey Academy White (0) Penticton, B.C. – Lane Hartwell (Sherwood Park, AB) stopped all 22 shots he faced as OHA Edmonton shutout Okanagan Hockey Academy White by a 3-0 score. Bode Hagan (Drayton Valley, AB) had a goal and assist, while Kaiden Guhle (Sherwood Park, AB) and Peyton McKenzie (Sherwood Park, AB) each finished with a pair of assists. BOXSCORE BWC Academy (6) Rink Hockey Academy (5) Penticton, B.C. – Kent Johnson (Port Moody, BC) scored once in regulation and then added the shootout winner as the BWC Academy edged the Rink Hockey Academy 6-5 in a thriller. In a back-and-forth affair, Seth Jarvis (Winnipeg, MB) tied the game up with 37 seconds remaining in regulation for Rink, to send it to overtime, while teammate Ty Thorpe (Brandon, BC) scored three times and setup another. Sean Donaldson (Vancouver, BC) and Tyler Schleppe (Vancouver, BC) led the way for Burnaby with a goal and two assists apiece. BOXSCORE CDA Academy (5) West Van Academy (2) Coeur d’ Alene, Ida. – Robbiw Hufnagel (Martensville, SK) turned aside 32-of-34 shots fired his direction to help the CDA Academy to a 5-2 win over West Van Academy. Owen Miley (Spokane Valley, WA) led all skaters with a goal and assist, including the eventual game winner with 2:37 remaining in the middle stanza. BOXSCORE ------------------------------------------------------------------MIDGET VARSITY DIVISION Shawnigan Lake School (7) Banff Hockey Academy (1) Calgary, Alta. – Three different skaters had three points as Shawnigan Lake School skated to a 7-1 win over the Banff Hockey Academy. Ryan Taylor-Kuipers (Burnaby, BC) finished with two goals and one assist, while Rhys Dutcyvich (Port McNeil, BC) and Corbin Hanson (Victoria, BC) chipped in with a goal and two assists apiece. Riley Tucker (Millarville, AB) turned aside 29-of-30 shots fired his way in net, picking up his second win of the season in the process. BOXSCORE Pilot Mound Hockey Academy (11) Edge School (2) Calgary, Alta. – Ayden Manningway (Peguis, MB), Matty Harold (Lorette, MB) and Corey Stormer (Waunakee, WI) each scored twice as the Pilot Mound Hockey Academy extended their winning streak to six games to open up the regular season with an 11-2 win over Edge School. Nine skaters in total had multi-point games for Pilot Mound, while Makoto Barnard (Pine Falls, MB) turned aside 29 shots between the pipes. BOXSCORE Delta Hockey Academy (5) International Hockey Academy (2) Calgary, Alta. – Austin Hartford (Anchorage, AK) scored twice to propel the Delta Hockey Academy to a 5-2 win over the International Hockey Academy. Easton Elmer (Ladner, BC) and Ethan McGylnn (Surrey, BC) each chipped in with a goal and assist for Delta, while Jovan Kheleh (Langley, BC) stopped 21-of-23 shots fired his way in net. BOXSCORE Pilot Mound Hockey Academy (11) Banff Hockey Academy (0) Calgary, Alta. – Jaden Pashe (Portage, MB) scored three times, while Corey Stormer (Waunakee, WI) added two goals and two assists as the Pilot Mound Hockey Academy blanked the Banff Hockey Academy by an 11-0 score. Liam Jardine (Neepawa, MB) stopped all 30 shots he faced to earn the shutout. BOXSCORE Shawnigan Lake School (4) International Hockey Academy (0) Calgary, Alta. – Carl Swanson (Victoria, BC) made 25 saves to earn the shutout as Shawnigan Lake School blanked the International Hockey Academy by a 4-0 score. Gareth Cooper (Portland, OR), Koby Bujdoso (Saanichton, BC), Rhys Dutcyvish (Port McNeil, BC) and Ethan Anstey (Yellowknife, NT) provided the offence for Shawnigan. BOXSCORE Edge School (4) Delta Hockey Academy (2) Calgary, Alta. – Two goals and one assist off the stick of Hunter Marchildon (Calgary, AB) paced Edge School to a 4-2 win over the Delta Hockey Academy. Dillon Beebe (Airdrie, AB) was rock solid between the pipes for Edge, making 35 saves along the way, while Ollie Morberg (Calgary, AB) added a goal and two helpers. BOXSCORE ------------------------------------------------------------------ELITE 15 DIVISION Rink Hockey Academy (6) OHA Edmonton (1) Winnipeg, Man. – A four-assist performance from Sequoia Swan (Winnipeg, MB) paced the Rink Hockey Academy to a 6-1 win over OHA Edmonton. Nikulas Jerris (Winnipeg, MB) stopped 27 shots in goal, while Logan Danis (Winnipeg, MB) found the back of the net twice. BOXSCORE Northern Alberta Xtreme (5) Edge School (3) Edmonton, Alta. – Five different skaters found the back of the net as the Northern Alberta Xtreme used a balanced attack to take a 5-3 win over Edge School. Ethan Leyer (St. Albert, AB) and Ty Yoder (Tofield, AB) led the charge with a goal and assist each, while Connor Ungar (Calgary, AB) improved to 3-0-0 on the season in the Northern Alberta crease, stopping 23 shots on the day. BOXSCORE Pursuit of Excellence (4) Pacific Coast Hockey Academy (2) Kelowna, B.C. – Hbiki Miyamoto’s (Kelowna, BC) third period tally midway through the frame proved to be the winner as the Pursuit of Excellence were 4-2 winners over the Pacific Coast Hockey Academy. Simi Gill (Calgary, AB) stopped 21-of-23 shots fired his way in the Pursuit crease, including all 11 shots faced in the opening frame. BOXSCORE Yale Hockey Academy (4) BWC Hockey Academy (3) Burnaby, B.C. – Jakob Gullmes (Pitt Meadows, BC) stood on his head, making 38 saves on the night as the Yale Hockey Academy hung on for a 4-3 win over the BWC Academy. Nicholas Dorrington (Langley, BC) found the back of the net twice to pace the Yale offence, while Michael Milne (Abbotsford, BC) chipped in with a goal and two helpers. BOXSCORE Delta Hockey Academy (6) West Van Academy (2) West Vancouver, B.C. – Braedy Euerby (Ladner, BC) made 16 saves as the Delta Hockey Academy were 6-2 winners over West Van Academy. BOXSCORE ------------------------------------------------------------------BANTAM PREP DIVISION Yale Hockey Academy (4) Delta Hockey Academy Green (3) Delta, B.C. – Logan Stankoven (Kamloops, BC) was the overtime hero, scoring the winner just 47 seconds into the extra frame to give the Yale Hockey Academy a thrilling 4-3 win over the Delta Hockey Academy. Both goaltenders were busy in this one as Liam Vanderkooi (Abbotsford, BC) made 35 saves in the Yale crease, while Saahil Mann (Surrey, BC) stopped 42 for Delta. BOXSCORE BWC Academy (2) Pacific Coast Hockey Academy (0) Langford, B.C. – Thomas Milic (Coquitlam, BC) stopped all 22 shots he faced to earn the shutout in his CSSHL debut as the BWC Academy edged the Pacific Coast Hockey Academy by a 2-0 score. Rocco La Cara (Vancouver, BC) opened the scoring, while Keean Fisk (Cloverdale, BC) added an insurance marker midway through the third period. Keegan Maddocks (Langley, BC) made 45 saves in the loss for Pacific Coast. BOXSCORE OHA Edmonton (16) Edge School (2) Calgary, Alta. – Sean Tschigerl (Edmonton, AB) had a five-point night, while Tyson Laventure (Lloydminster, AB) and Josh Medernach (Lloydminster, AB) each had a had trick as OHA Edmonton defeated Edge School. BOXSCORE Rink Hockey Academy (10) Notre Dame Hounds (1) Winnipeg, Man. – Eric Alarie (Winnipeg, MB), Hudson Thornton (Winnipeg, MB) and Owen Weihs (Winnipeg, MB) each scored twice as the Rink Hockey Academy cruised to a 10-1 win over the Notre Dame Hounds. Michael Svenson (Ile des Chenes, MB) chipped in with a goal and three helpers, while Jaxson Taupert (Moose Jaw, SK) made 21 saves to grab the victory between the pipes. BOXSCORE ------------------------------------------------------------------BANTAM VARSITY DIVISION Okanagan Hockey Academy (7) Edge School (0) Calgary, Alta. – Harmon Laser-Hume (Rossland, BC) stopped all 27 shots fired his way, while seven different skaters found the back of the net as the Okanagan Hockey Academy blanked Edge School by a 7-0 score. Mirko Buttazzoni (Langley, BC) with a goal and two assists, and Owen Simmons (Kelowna, BC) with three helpers, paced the offence for Okanagan. BOXSCORE
