12/5/2015 I come to this gym five or six times a week and love it. There is a great pool, cardio machines, weights, kids' room, rock climbing wall, spin room, indoor track, basically everything you need. Their group classes never seem to be too full. The core teacher is super chill and helps you out when you do mess up. The only reason I gave them four stars is the attire people are allowed to wear when working out and the amount of little kids in the weight area, wish they would stay in the kids' room. People often work out with jeans on and there is this guy who always wears hospital scrubs, totally gross. Overall, I think this is a solid gym as I come back day after day.

This place stinks. I am from out of town visiting and have a medical condition that requires me to exercise. The manager would not allow me to use the facilities or purchase a short term pass even though i have done so at this same location for three of the last four years. For a family/ community establishment what a disappointment.

The staff here is extremely polite and helpful! This is the cleanest YMCA that I have been too and there is always so much going on! It's great for all ages and there's something different for each person.

27/2/2014 I go to this gym about twice a week. The gym itself is really nice. There is a pool, cardio, weights, kids room, rock climbing wall, spin room, gyms, track, basically everything you would want or need. The only reason they get 4 stars is that they seem to be constantly packed. There is barely ever a lane open for swimming, and I usually have to wait for a treadmill. However, their group classes never seem to be too full. I have tried spin and boot camp and both kicked my butt (in a good way). The boot camp teacher is super nice and helps you out when you get confused (I don't have the best coordination). Overall, I think this facility is similar to the Thelma Lovette, but the classes are better at Baierl.

Amazing YMCA with clean, modern facilities the whole family can enjoy. We have been considering joining a YMCA for some time in order to have a place we can go swim with our little one, but hadn't really found "the" place until we met up with a few friends a couple of weeks ago to have a nice afternoon out in the sun. This place does not disappoint! They have it all - an indoor pool, an outdoor pool with depths for all ages, plentiful exercise equipment, and beautiful indoor gymnasium. There's even a rock climbing wall in the lobby! Great place - you've got my vote... and my membership fees!

I love this gym. My family and I purchased the family plan that allowed us multiple locations. We use this one, the one on 5th and the US Steel one. First, my 3 year old is already eyeing up the rock climbing wall for when he's old enough. Second, they have family locker rooms, one for just kids - old enough for their own locker room, but separate from the adults, and an adult locker room. There is the big outdoor pool, which is great for families. The 25 meter indoor pool has been a blessing for swim workouts. Upstairs, they have a running track, and tons of machines. I've never had to wait for one, but others have told me its the one downside to this Y. Between the basketball courts, and the side rooms for workout classes, there is nothing you can't do here. There are lots of clubs for kids - my oldest did a swim class and we are looking in to beginners soccer, plus they have a daycare of sorts to watch your kids while you workout. There's an outdoor area for them to play, and I saw a father and son play ping pong the other day as I was leaving. They must've partnered with Northland library because they have a vending machine of books/DVDs to check out, which is a treat for my son. Plus, they have coffee in the mornings...which as a coffee junkie, makes this place all the better. Again, I have nothing bad to say about this Y. When I'm at my house, this is where I workout. And hope to do so for years to come.

I have never been a Y member, so I am excited to be a member at this YMCA. The people that work here are very nice. And the facilities are Awesome! They opened in May of 2006 in the Franklin Park area. The beautiful facility includes an indoor and outdoor pool and a rock climbing wall. This place is a state-of-the-art health and wellness center, with 2 group exercise studios, five locker rooms, a double gymnasium, and a running/walking track. The also have a Child Watch Center. The monthly membership includes all classes (the Cranberry Y charges extra for some of their classes). The front desk is very friendly and oh so helpful, ready to answer any questions you may have. The exercise equipment is great. Lucky for me, I get off work early, otherwise, I think later people may have to wait for a machine. The place can really fill up. The treadmills are wonderful and even have a personal built in TV which makes the time fly by. The pool is very nice. And since I am a dog paddle swimmer, I really appreciate the water fitness classes. Love the beginner and de-stress yoga classes. So glad to be a member.

25/1/2015 This YMCA is in need of a desperate cleaning. The floors on the aerobics room haven"t been cleaned in a long time. Some instructors have commented on the cleanliness. The aerobics director offers classes that do not have the equipment to support the class (ie, Barre). The music in the Core CX is so loud you cannot hear the instructor cueing the exercises. If you want to swim in the lap lanes, good luck trying to get a lane. The lifeguards occupy the lap lanes for their private swim lessons, and allow their employees to swim laps in the lanes, when there are paying members that have to wait for a lane. It seems unfair to pay monthly dues and be treated with such disregard. The YMCA raises the fees and offer little in the way of customer service. The front desk people should be greeting people with a smile and be thankful they have a job. The place could use a "gym rescue" and new management, for sure.

12/4/2012 This is the Crown Jewel of the YMCA branches! Staff is friendly and accommodating. High Community Spirit. Facilities are always being updated. Swim team is Great but there I am biased. Check it out!
