Only married Indian couples who have proven infertility are eligible for surrogacy.
The surrogate mother must be a married w o m a n between 2 5 a n d 35
years, and s h e can only be a surrogate once in her lifetime. S h e must be a close relative of the intended parents.
All surrogacy arrangements must be legally registered and approved by the appropriate authority.
This law ensures transparency, protects the surrogate’s rights, and
prevents any form of exploitation or unethical practices in surrogacy in India.
