On the night of 31st August 2025, a devastating 6.0-magnitude earthquake struck eastern Afghanistan, bringing destruction to the provinces of Kunar and Nangarhar. Entire villages were flattened, thousands of homes reduced to rubble, and countless families left without shelter. The earthquake struck in the middle of the night as families slept in fragile mud and stone houses. Within seconds, walls crumbled, burying loved ones beneath the debris. Survivors are now enduring unimaginable suffering — searching for missing relatives while surrounded by grief and destruction.
