Pre-Arrest and Post-Arrest Jail Diversion On July 1, 2017 two new Legal Status values will be added to MOTS: Pre-Arrest Jail Diversion and Post-Arrest Jail Diversion. These additions are in response to the USDOJ Oregon Performance Plan. One of the plan’s aims is to reduce interactions between clients with serious and persistent mental illness and law enforcement, and to record jail diversions for those same clients pre- and post-arrest. We will share more about these values as we get closer including an information sheet and tip sheets. Keep an eye out for the first of these resources in the next few weeks.
MOTS Update on May 25 On Thursday, May 25 the MOTS application will be updated. For a short time that morning, MOTS will not be available. Most of the items in this update are operations in the background. However, there is one item you may notice. If your password is due to expire within 14 days, you will see a message stating that. This is to remind you to change your password before it expires and your access is disabled. There is a link on the login page that will take you to the Citrix webpage where you can change your password.
Marriage Status Anomaly Report Denise is 10 Years Old and Divorced! The MOTS team is rolling out a new anomaly report. This report looks at two fields, Birthdate and Marital Status. It finds clients under the age of 16 who have marital status of Married, Divorced, Separated, or Widowed. Providers who have under-aged clients with odd marriage statuses may receive a list to address. The Marital Status field describes the client’s current marital status. It has been suggested that some providers have been inputting the parent’s marital status on a child’s client record. Having data on the parent’s marital status may be a good idea, but the MOTS record contains data about the client, and it is unlikely and probably illegal for a ten year-old to be married. For providers who receive this report please check two things:

Check for errors in the Marital Status field- If the client is a child, the marital status is likely “Never Married.” In Oregon, with parental consent, a 17 year-old may get married. Clients younger than 17, if actually married, may be outside the law. Double-check the birth date for typos as the client may not be a minor. If a correction to the birth date is needed, contact MOTS support at
