Job Title: Payroll Specialist Supervisor: Accounting Manager FLSA Status: Nonexempt / Hourly SUMMARY Responsible for working independently on normal assignments; consulting with supervision on matters of policy and program direction; and performing payroll specialist duties in support of assigned projects/departments. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Other duties may be assigned.) Maintains information in Deltek Time & Expense as payroll administrator Executes payroll interfaces between time and expense program, work package program and accounting program Prepares weekly payroll and related reports Prepares and submits weekly 941 deposits Makes periodic 401(k) contributions for employees and submits 401(k) report to ensure compliance with requirements Prepares monthly worker compensation reports and provides information for annual audit Analyzes and reconciles various balance sheets and expense accounts on a monthly basis Calculates and prepares general ledger entries Maintains payroll related procedures Maintains compliance with local, state, and federal payroll regulations Prepares and files payroll tax returns Processes accurate and timely year-end reporting (W-2, W-3, etc.) Performs other accounting functions as required by the Accounting Manager Maintains excellent communication with the entire SST staff
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting OR at least two (2) years of payroll experience Certified Payroll Professional designation preferred Proficiency utilizing different types of payroll computer software applications Deltek software preferred Proficiency in Microsoft Excel required
