Position Description Title: Business Development Director Status: Full time Summary: The Business Development Director identifies and secures new business, and maintains professional relationships with existing client base. Responsibilities:
Identify and develop sales leads, professionally present capabilities and manage the sales process through close. Travel to regional sales meetings for client presentations and networking events. Collaborate with internal operations, finance and marketing departments, as well as outside vendors and service partners. Develop service plans and budgets. Expand relationships and business opportunities. Provide seamless handoff from study award to project initiation team.
Requirements: Combination of business development experience and laboratory knowledge within the central laboratory or contract research industry. Proven track record working with mid and high level industry contacts within the biopharmaceutical industry. Exceptional communication and analytical skills. Proficiency in MS Word and Excel, familiarity with sales automation systems. Extensive pre-existing biopharmaceutical industry contacts. Ability to travel 30% including some weekends. Scientific and/or sales or marketing background with concentration in pharmaceutical/biotech area. Bachelor’s degree (in Science or Business). History of success working from a home-based office environment.
