I have 1 sliding glass door and didn't have any problems installing the entry sensor. That door also gets the most use by far in my house. I have had SimpliSafe for about 10 months now and so far so good.

Thanks for posting! The Entry sensor should work on your door! It has two parts, a transmitter and a magnet. As long as the transmitter is within two inches of the magnet, it should work with no issues! Ryan K. SimpliSafe Home Security Login to post comments
You realize that it is highky On July 30th, 2013 Aqua.bachmann says:
You realize that it is highky likely that a burglar would break your glass to enter your house. So the entry sensor for that isn't really as useful as it should be. Login to post comments
@aqua.bachmann Thanks for On July 31st, 2013 Kelley says:
@aqua.bachmann Thanks for your post! We are in development for glass break sensors, but in the mean time, I would suggest positioning a motion sensor towards that door. This way, if someone did enter through the glass pane, they would then trip the motion sensor. Let us know if there's anything else we can help you with! The short answer is, On December 30th, 2016 sarcasticynic says:
The short answer is, Yes! Actually, a combo of at least two sensors is better than just one. For our sliding pair, we have an entry sensor on each and a glass break sensor. We also happen to have a motion sensor in that room, but that's for more than just these entry points. Login to post comments
In October, my sliding door On December 30th, 2016 epobox13 says:
In October, my sliding door was shattered with a brick. The glassbreak sensor picked it up immediately, the motion detector picked them up 2 minutes later moving through my kitchen. My SMS alerts pretty much had me tracking them the entire time. They made off with stuff but were caught 2 hours later as they were already being sought for a string of robberies. I am considering another glassbreak in my hallway but am doing research to see if it would detect a glassbreak through closed interior doors (ie someone shatters a bedroom window). I would highly recommend both the entry and shatter. And one of the bars for the sliding door that prevents it from opening (this is a serious piece of mind because the locks on those doors are trivial). Motion is there to kind of give you more idea if they actually entered or if it is a false alarm but once it goes off, they are inside. I still use 3 in my house though. Login to post comments
I doubt a glass break will On December 30th, 2016 sevensiamesecats says:
I doubt a glass break will detect through a closed door. Even heavy window coverings can reduce their range considerably. Login to post comments
@epobox13 Thank you for On January 3rd, 2017 Michelle Lakov says:
@epobox13 Thank you for sharing your experience! To answer your question, the glassbreak sensors would not be able to reliably detect breaking glass through closed doors. If you have any questions about this, please let us know. Michelle SimpliSafe Home Security Login to post comments
