Seven Laws Of the Harvest “Now may He who supplies seed to the sower, and bread for food, supply and multiply the seed you have sown and increase the fruits of your righteousness” (2 Cor 9:10).

SEVEN LAWS
OF THE HARVEST “Bring the full tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. And thereby put me to the test, says the Lord of hosts, if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour down for you a blessing until there is no more need” (Malachi 3:10) ESV. BY SENIOR PASTOR PRINCE GUNERATNAM
M
an’s method to prosper is by keeping and not giving. When babies are born, their fists are closed. This is human nature. But the Bible teaches otherwise. The way to prosper is in giving. “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways,’ says the LORD” (Isaiah 55:8). The Bible teaches that God’s way to prosper is by sowing or giving. The challenge is to walk and live in His ways and understand His thoughts so we can prosper. God says He will open the windows of heaven and pour out a blessing until there is no more need (Malachi 3:10) ESV. This promise is given in the context of giving. God’s method or way for us to live under the “open windows of heavens” is to sow and reap like the farmer. When we give to God, we are sowing. And we will reap a harvest, not only in finance. When we sow kindness and loving acts we will find favour with the people we work and live with.
God Gave His Creation The Power To Increase By Giving Seeds To His Creation. God desires to bring us success and prosperity. The Bible says, “… God blessed them, saying, ‘Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let birds multiply on the earth’” (Genesis 1:22). God’s method to bring increase is by giving seeds. Seeds to be sown to increase.
He gave seeds to the plants and animals. “ Then God said, ‘Let the earth bring forth the living creature according to its kind: cattle and creeping thing and beast of the earth, each according to its kind’; and it was so. … See, I have given you every herb that yields seed which is on the face of all the earth, and every tree whose fruit yields seed; to you it shall be for food” (Genesis 1:24-29). And to us humans, God says, “And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her Seed; He shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise his heel” (Genesis 3:15). God foretold that the seed of the woman will bruise satan’s head. The seed referred to is Jesus. The Holy Spirit will come upon Mary and she, a virgin will bring forth a son. Imagine if she was not willing to give her seed! What a blessing that seed became because she gave.
God Is The Supplier Of Seeds. The Bible says, “Now may He who supplies seed to the sower, and bread for food, supply and multiply the seed you have sown and increase the fruits of your righteousness” (2 Corinthians 9:10). Everything we have is from God. He is the owner and we are stewards of God’s blessings. When we give our tithes, we are saying we are stewards and He is the owner. And when we give, He prospers us. Tithe is not only an Old Testament law. Jesus Himself says, “Man ought to tithe” (Mt 23:23). When you tithe, He prospers you.
God’s Immutable Law- Sow And You Will Reap. One must sow in order to reap. No farmer expects a harvest without sowing. There was a farmer in China, who was going through a tough season. His children were hungry for they had no more rice to eat. But while playing, the children found a bag of rice in the basement. They wanted to eat the rice but the father did not allow them to because the bag of rice was for sowing. When the time came, the father sowed the rice in the field. The children thought the father was wasting the rice. But when it was time for harvest, there was more rice than what was sown. There was multiplication. This is the miracle of sowing.

THE SEVEN LAWS OF HARVEST 1. A PORTION OF YOUR HARVEST IS FOR SOWING. The Bible says, “Now may He who supplies seed to the sower, and bread for food, supply and multiply the seed you have sown and increase the fruits of your righteousness” (2 Cor 9:10). Not all the harvest is for food to be eaten. We are to put aside a portion for sowing. Unless you sow, you will not have a harvest. 2. YOUR SEED MUST BE PLANTED. Planting the seed is to bury it in the ground. It is like death. You must let it go. The Bible says, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it produces much grain” (John 12:24). Plant your seeds regularly and faithfully and you will live under God’s open windows in heaven. 3. YOUR SEED MUST BE PLANTED IN GOOD GROUND. The parable of the sower tells us he went to sow. Do not just sow anywhere. Be careful where you sow. Sow on good ground. God gives vision to the church to touch the city, nation and the world. Sow into the church’s vision to reach the lost. Sow into the Church where you are planted.
We all have different level of abilities. The Bible says, “But others fell on good ground and yielded a crop: some a hundred fold, some sixty, some thirty” (Matthew 13:8). Not everyone is a 100 fold individual. Whether you are a 30, 60 or 100 fold person, you are to sow 100% of whatever God has told you. Sow on “good ground” that fulfill God’s purposes and will. He will bless you.
4. YOU PLANT AND REAP AFTER ITS KIND. We produce what we plant and not of the different kind. The Bible says, “And the earth brought forth grass, the herb that yields seed according to its kind, and the tree that yields fruit,
whose seed is in itself according to its kind. And God saw that it was good” (Gen 1:12). Finance is not the only area of sowing. For instance, when you sow love, you reap love. And when you sow mercy, you reap mercy. Don’t use any lack of what you have as an excuse not to sow. Ask God who is a great Giver. He has given you all things that pertains to life and godliness. Give and you will experience the marvelous miracle of sowing and reaping.
You Need Patience. The Bible says, “We give thanks to God always for you all, making mention of you in our prayers, remembering without ceasing your work of faith, labor of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ in the sight of our God and Father” (I Thessalonians 1:2-3). They that wait upon the Lord shall not be disappointed.
Don’t Be Weary. The Bible says, “And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart” (Galatians 6:9). Let giving be your lifestyle. Sow seeds of kindness, love, joy, mercy, speak good things to encourage others. As we refresh others, we ourselves will get refreshed. When you begin to sow, you live under God’s open windows of blessing.
Endure And Receive The Promise. The Bible says, “For you have need of endurance, so that after you have done the will of God, you may receive the promise” (Hebrews 10:36).
God is not mocked. Whatsoever a man sows, or gives away, that will he also receive. The Bible says, “Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap” (Galatians 6:7). 5. YOUR HARVEST DEPENDS ON HOW MUCH YOU PLANT. The Bible says, “He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully” (2 Cor 9:6). If we sow bountifully or sparingly, we will reap accordingly. 6. YOUR HARVEST IS NOT OVERNIGHT. The Bible says, “To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven: a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck what is planted” (Ecc 3:1-2). There is a time for everything. Harvest takes time. It humbles us to depend on Him. For instance when there is no rain, you ask Him for rain! The Bible says, “And Jesus said,“The kingdom of God is as if a man should scatter seed on the ground, and should sleep by night and rise by day, and the seed should sprout and grow, he himself does not know how” (Mark 4:26, 27). Man’s business is to plant the seed. He may not know how the seed will grow and multiply. You sow in faith, trusting God. The harvest does not happen overnight. God’s timing is perfect. He is never late.
7. YOUR HARVEST IS A MIRACLE. The Bible says, “I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the increase” (1 Cor 3:6). Every seed that you sow will bring a harvest. You cannot see the multiplication in the dried up seed. We don’t know how it works. It is a miracle! God has given us a high and noble responsibility. CCC is a great platform to see souls saved and expand the Kingdom of God. Understand the laws of the harvest. Be serious about what we sow and experience the miraculous outpouring of His blessings so we might fulfill His destiny for our lives, our Church and nation. All Bible quotations are in the New King James Version unless otherwise stated.

Calvary Church Is A Disciple-Making Church! C
“All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” (Matthew 28:18-20).

alvary Church is a disciple-making church, and the Life Groups (LGs) are a huge part of this effort. Believers are discipled into maturity and become leaders. They are evangelistic and become disciple-makers. As a result, new LGs and new Assistant Leaders are raised. On 28 June 2014, we are glad to testify that seven new Assistant Leaders and six new LGs from the Youth and Young Adults (YA) LGs, the International LGs,

the Chinese LGs and the Home LGs were installed at the Saturday evening Worship Service at Damansara Heights. The seven new Assistant Leaders are Christine Leong (YA LG), Hon Sir Neng (Youth LG), Chang Foong Jeu (Youth LG), Godwin Osuji-Bells (International LG), Daphny Way (Chinese LG), Phan Yoke Hin (Home LG) and Jean Tung (Home LG). Every believer needs to belong to a LG. LGs are vital to our spiritual growth. Wouldn’t we agree that some of our regrets would have been avoided, if we had someone to journey with us through our challenges? Wouldn’t our successes be greater if we had people to spur us to do better and to pray for us? The LG can be the answer to our needs.

THE NEWLY INSTALLED ASSISTANT LEADERS AND HOSTS TESTIFY: PASSION TO IMPACT LIVES WITH THE GOOD NEWS “God always reminds me that we’re living in the end times. My involvement in the Youth LG stirred my passion of wanting to impact lives with the Gospel of Jesus Christ and see the manifestations of the power of Holy Spirit through my life.” - Hon Sir Neng,Youth LG A NEW JOURNEY IN DISCIPLING YOUNG ADULTS “God is ever faithful to those who believe in Him and His plans. God has started a new journey for me as an Assistant Leader. I want to see the young adults consumed with the fire of God, loving God more and more, and grow in their relationship with Him. I’m very thankful and excited to be part of the LG ministry.” - Christine Leong, YA LG OPPORTUNITY TO PARTNER WITH GOD “We are grateful for this opportunity to be LG hosts and we believe that this new LG will impact our new neighbourhood and also bring blessings to our spiritual walk. We are honoured to partner with Calvary Church in this ministry.” - Vernon & June Lai, Home LG
BLESSED TO BE A BLESSING “I’ve been truly blessed in the International LG. These blessings that overflowed in my life and family motivate me in wanting to be a blessing to others.” - Godwin Osuji-Bells, International LG TO SHINE FOR JESUS AND TOUCH LIVES FOR HIS GLORY “We had the desire to open our home for LG because we wanted to share the gospel with our neighbours. We also want to see those who attend the LG have their needs met and to grow spiritually. We thank Calvary Church for giving us this opportunity to touch lives for His glory and honour.” - Chia Han Yong & Esly Yong, Chinese LG TRUSTING IN GOD’S ENABLEMENT TO LEAD “When I was approached to serve as an Assistant LG leader, I struggled and was fearful that I would not be able to do the task that is entrusted to me. But the Word of God encouraged me that everything I have is from Him and that I just needed to do what I can. So I accepted the commitment in faith, knowing that God will help me to fulfil what He has called me to do.” - Daphne Way, Chinese LG

2014 BLOOD Donation Drive at CCC BY JANA PONNUDURAI
Good participation from both Calvarites and the public. Hallelujah! We have crossed the 100mark! 106 donors (2013:89) successfully donated their blood at this year’s Blood Donation Drive held after the Sunday Worship Service at CCC on 13 July 2014. There was a total of 138 participants, of whom, 40 are non-Calvarites! This represents 30% participation from the general public. Most of these nonCalvarites either saw the attractive banner in front of CCC when they went to the park or drove past CCC on their way to work. Some came because they read the event listing in STAR on Saturday or online portal such as SUN daily or heard it announced on Lite FM radio channel on Sunday morning. For instance, Kok Mun Poh from Ampang saw the banner while passing by one day and roped in his brother to donate, as he desired to “help” others in need. Another
regular donor saw the banner everyday while driving to work and decided to do his part. He said he will come back again next year. The event was organized by our Social Concern Ministry in response to the call by the National Blood Bank (Pusat Darah Negara) to increase the supply of blood during the Ramadan, which will be needed by hospitals nationwide. Dr. Asma (team leader), on behalf of National Blood Bank expressed their appreciation and gratefulness to Calvary Church for the yearly support. She also said that the drive was well organized and the CCC facilities are good. Last but not least, thank you all donors for your time and “giving” attitude in doing your bit to support this effort and to donate blood to save lives.

TESTIMONIES OF CALVARITES WHO DONATED FOR THE VERY FIRST TIME: Gabriel Chong, who decided to donate for the first time came along with 12 of the Calvary Young Adults. He said, “I was nervous, but it was for a good cause, and I will do it again.” Veronica See said, “This is my first time donating and what a joy to be able to be a blessing. I have asked my ladies life group to join me in donating blood for the next drive. You can definitely count me in!” Debbie Hong, a student, beamed with pride after donating blood for the first time. She said, “I gave blood because I know that every pint that is donated can save up to three lives. I am humbled that I am able to contribute to the community to save lives, something I would never have thought about doing.”

Calvary News (CN) is so pleased to welcome back Pastor Yong Chee Weng and his wife, Sister Quek Lee Siu and their two daughters, Si-En (11) and Mei –En (7). They have just completed their missionary assignment in Africa. Pastor Chee Weng is currently serving with the Missions Ministry while Lee Siu is with Children’s Ministry.
Up Close And Personal Be encouraged and inspired by this interview.
CN: Share with us what you were doing before entering the ministry? I was a process engineer for four years in an international company. The pay, perks and promotion prospects were good. Yet, it failed to clinch it for me! It just wasn’t what God had put into me. My wife, Lee Siu had just graduated with a degree in Accountancy. CN: What made you go into full-time ministry? God’s calling. I accepted Christ at age 18 and it has always been my deep desire to share Christ with others. So when God called, it seemed natural. The Bible says to count the costs, and that was what I did. The returns certainly out weigh the investments.Taking the first step of faith is always the hardest. It’s like sowing. The seed has to die in order to produce many seeds. CN: What is it like to be in full-time ministry? It is extremely meaningful and a privilege to serve God full-time. It is not smooth sailing all the time, but the fact that it counts for eternity makes it all worthwhile. Besides, God knows how to take care of His children. My family and I are so
blessed by God in so many ways, not just financially and materially.
years and help me overcome family issues.
CN: Was it easy going full-time, let alone going to the mission field? Could you share your concerns and how you overcame them? My wife and I were both called by God. We were willing to make the sacrifices and take the risk. As a father and husband, I want to give my family the best and I constantly struggled with issues such as: Would my kids be deprived of a good childhood and future because their dad is going full-time? Would my wife prefer to settle down and have her own home like all other women?
CN: Can you tell us more about the missionary assignment that you recently completed? It was a dream come through to serve as missionary to an unreached people who do not have a Christian witness. It was also a great honour to have our home church, Calvary Church, stand together with us in this calling.
I thank God for using an Australian missionary couple I met years ago to encourage me. They had lost their son (less than 1 year old) despite the best medical care available in Australia. At the time I met them, they were preparing to go to rural Africa even though the wife was pregnant again. They told me, “Even the best medical care couldn’t save our son. Whether it’s in rural Africa or firstworld Australia, the best we can give our children is God. Only in Him can we trust.” That has stuck with me all these
However, it had been a tough assignment in many ways. The last five years in the field was a constant learning and adjusting process. There were times we were tempted to throw in the towel but God the Holy Spirit kept us going. Through it all, we are so thankful to God that He made Himself known to a people who have so misunderstood Him. It is a privilege to be His instruments. CN: What would you say to those who are thinking of full-time ministry? What are you waiting for? Is it not obvious that God can work out the best future for us? So when God calls, trust and obey. If you sense God calling you to full-time ministry talk to one of the pastors.

O
n 4 July 2014, it was encouraging and heart-warming to see many new ones coming out to pray at the second prayer rally at Damansara Heights Sanctuary.
RALLYING TO PRAY The opening number by the choir, “Prayer For The City” provided a beautiful start. Our resolve to pray was strengthened with Associate Pastor Timothy Ong’s declaration that Church family had gathered to pray and pray. This was further reinforced by Sister Petrina Guneratnam’s opening prayer, imploring the Lord how much we need Him to meet all the needs and concerns we are bringing before Him.
A POWERFUL EXHORTATION Following an exuberant praise and worship time, Senior Pastor Prince Guneratnam shared a short and powerful exhortation.
He highlighted that the key phrase to note is “if two of you agree” and “where two or three are gathered together” (Matthew 18:19 -20). This is what would cause the Lord to move powerfully in our midst. The Bible says, “When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting.” (Acts 2:1-2). “One accord” is more than coming together and one place. It involves unity of mind, spirit and purpose. To have unity in mind is to be single-minded and in one accord, dropping any other thought. Unity in spirit is to have our prayers energised and moved by the passion within us. Unity of purpose, is having a common goal to fulfil God’s will, obedient to the command, promise and desire of Jesus. Idol worshippers know the power of one accord. They caused havoc and
destruction to the world. For instance in the stoning of Stephen, the Bible says, “Then they cried out with a loud voice, stopped their ears, and ran at him with one accord; and they cast him out of the city and stoned him … as he was calling on God and saying, “Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.” (Acts 7:57-59). We were encouraged to pray in “one accord” in mind, spirit and purpose, flowing together in purpose, energized by the Holy Spirit and with passion! Then began the time of corporate prayers as well as prayers in small groups. It was wonderful to put into practise all we have learnt about praying in one accord. Various ones brought our petitions and intercessions before our Lord.
Praying In One Accord • Associate Pastor Chan Lee Peng prayed for individual revival and love for prayer and the Word as this is the foundation of our Church growth.

The crowd warmed up after a hearty ice-breaker, and Darren Yong, emcee and worship leader for the day took to the stage. After a short but earnest time of worship, Juwita started her part of the session. She openly shared about her life experiences and mesmerized the audience with her amazing voice during the two-hour event. Affectionately known as Ju, her father was a Methodist pastor who served his church in various locations and she grew up living in many areas. She started singing and playing a variety of instruments through her helping out with the church worship team from young. Todate, she has recorded numerous albums as a solo artist, worked with notable local talents and even coached the finalists of Malaysian Idol, just to name a few of her achievements. In addition to belting out singles for the
airwaves and travelling around the world to perform, she actively serves in the music ministry in her home church as a worship leader. Juwita was amusing and informed as she shared experiences and advice with flair and a joyful spirit. Many took the question-and-answer session as an opportunity to ask her a myriad of questions ranging from her mission and vision in life, to her struggles as a recording artiste. She was also quick to offer words of wisdom for fellow musicians that comprised half of the audience! If there’s one thing she believes in doing, it is preparation, preparation, preparation! “I believe in doing my best even when it doesn’t matter – in everything, give a 100%.” She wants to live her life as a worship offering unto the Lord, in her career and in her lifestyle. She had always known that she wanted to make a difference. After working at a non-profit organization, she felt a calling
to pursue a music career in the music industry. She believes that God wanted to use her to create music with a godly worldview that could reach the masses. It is clear that Juwita doesn’t try to be anyone else but herself, and that sets her apart from other artistes in the market place. She has confidence that her identity is secure in Christ alone! She strives to bring that out through her music. Whether she’s performing in smaller venues or on a huge stage, her goal is to bring God’s presence to the audience, Christians or otherwise. Choosing Juwita was a no-brainer, said Jason Sia, the CYA coordinator. “Besides her passion for the music industry, she doesn’t slow down on her involvement in the church ministries where she serves. That’s the kind of godly character and example we want our young adults to learn and take home with them.” Darren testified, “It was amazing to see that you can be successful in the market place while being respected for your faith at the same time!” Praise and thank God for a humble and down-to-earth talent like Juwita who shines for Christ through her lifestyle in Malaysia’s thriving music industry.

HUKUM-HUKUM TENTANG PENUAIAN
Tuhan Memberi CiptaanNya Kuasa Untuk Menambah Dengan Memberi Benih Kepada CiptaanNya.
C
Tuhan Adalah Pembekal Benih.

7. Penuaian Kamu Adalah Satu Mukjizat.
