OneDrive for Business - How to Activate and Access the Cloud-based Storage Service OneDrive for Business is a cloud-based file storage service available to all PolyU staff and students as part of the Office 365 suite, which allows you to store and share your files from anywhere via web browsers, desktop clients and mobile device apps. 1 TB online storage is available to each staff and student user and document sharing with anyone within and outside PolyU is supported.
How to activate the service? If you have not yet activated the service, follow the simple steps below to do so now: 1. Login to your Staff Email / Connect email account via web browser (https://www.polyu.edu.hk/its/emc/). 2. Click the icon at the top left hand corner and then select OneDrive (short form for OneDrive for Business). 3. Wait a few minutes for first time setup.
How to access the service? OneDrive for Business can be conveniently accessed on all devices via the Office 365 web interface. For access, simply follow steps 1-2 above after activating the service. Alternatively, you can install the mobile client on your Android or iOS device, or the desktop sync client on your Windows or Mac machine for access. To download the client, you may: 1. Visit https://onedrive.live.com/about/en-nz/download/. 2. Select your platform and click “Download”. 3. Run the downloaded file to start the Setup program. 4. Follow the instructions to complete the installation. It takes just a few minutes and the client will be ready for use.
