Safety & Efficiency
Safety first Safety is an important consideration in the design of your Canter. All FE models are fitted with driver and far side passenger SRS air bags as well as twin caliper front and rear disc brakes and ABS (excludes Eco Hybrid model). Doors are reinforced with side impact beams while front and rear stabiliser bars improve cornering and road handling. Hill start system is standard in manual transmission FE models to complete a package that gives you peace of mind. Trust Canter to put drivers first.

Canter’s wide cabs comfortably accommodate larger physiques, with plenty of leg room, head room and adjustable backrests. CANTER FACTORY TIPPER MANUAL The Canter Factory Tipper takes the hassle out of buying a new light-duty tipper, making the process both quick and easy by providing customers with a high quality spec tipper truck that can be ready to begin work the same day. CANTER ECO HYBRID The Canter Eco Hybrid is equipped with a parallel hybrid system that supplies drive by electric motor, engine, or both. Coupled with an automated mechanical transmission, driving is as easy as with an automatic transmission. The result is an ideal balance of lower pollution, lower fuel consumption, and easy driving. Canter Eco Hybrid uses next generation technologies such as Lithium Ion battery and automated manual transmission. The result is a vehicle that is ADR80/03 emission compliant, easy to operate and delivers not only the goods but also real savings to operators and the environment if operated in low-end speeds in start/stop applications.

Battery Inverter Electric motor-only-powered starts from a stop. When starting from a stop, drive is by electric motor only with clutch disengaged. The motor emits no CO 2 Not only is fuel consumption lower, takeoff is also quiet. Only the Canter Eco Hybrid offers start-from-astop by electric motor alone.

Diesel engine is used for constant speed cruise. When a certain speed is reached, the clutch is engaged in synch with the diesel engine rpm and electric motor rpm, and the vehicle is then propelled by the engine. Efficient operation like this enhances fuel efficiency and reduces CO 2 emissions.
Combination of diesel engine and electric motor delivers higher power. The electric motor assists the engine when extra torque is needed at low/medium engine speed, such as when accelerating or climbing a slope. The engine-motor combinaton generates more torque for smooth hillclimbing and acceleration.
Electric power is genarated using braking energy. When decelerating (braking), under certain conditions the clutch is automatically disengaged and regenerative braking–equivalent to engine braking–is effected by the motor. The braking energy is converted to electricity and accumulated in the battery.
