Authored 101 scientific papers, 147 conference paper presentations in dentistry, and authored or edited 7 books on education Winner of 17 medals (5 gold, 9 silver, 3 bronze) for scientific inventions at international and national levels. Engineered the recognition by the General Dental Council of the United Kingdom for the Bachelor of Dental Surgery Degree from the University of Malaya (1997). This is world recognition. Engineered the setting up of the FDSRCS Dental Specialist Qualification (Fellow in Dental Surgery, of the Royal College of Surgeons of England) in Kuala Lumpur (1987), which did not exist previously. Engineered the placing of the University of Malaya among THE-QS 200 best world universities (2004-2006). As the Vice-Chancellor of the University Malaya, Engineered 52 Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the University of Malaya and 52 other universities, including Cambridge, Peking, Carnegie Melon, University California, London. Achievements Pertaining To Bahasa Malaysia and Culture Memartabatkan Bahasa Malaysia sebagai Bahasa Ilmu diperingkat global Engineered the recognition by the General Dental Council of the United Kingdom (GDC) for the Bachelor of Dental Surgery Degree (BDS) from the University of Malaya (1997). This is a world recognition. This degree course was totally taught in Bahasa Malaysia. The GDC recognises BDS degrees from Spain, Italy, Holland, France, Germany that used their own language as medium of teaching. With the GDC recognition of the BDS degree from the University of Malaya, Bahasa Malaysia automatically becomes Bahasa Ilmu at par with Spanish, Italian, Dutch, French and German in the eyes of the GDC.
