You and your wellness coach will develop a plan to meet your unique needs. Your goals are within your reach. Register for your first session at the front desk. SESSION 1 - FOCUS This is a one hour session is all about you. You and your coach will discuss your past experiences, uncover potential obstacles, help you set goals and develop a plan to reach them. PRE/POST-NATAL FITNESS [01118] Mild-intensity aerobics, muscle strengthening and relaxation exercises are emphasized to keep you fit during pregnancy and help you get back into exercising after baby. This class follows ACOG guidlines and uses YMCA certified instructors. Join us Mondays for a pre/post-natal step workout and/ or Wednesdays for floor aerobics and pre/post-natal yoga. It is a gentle, enjoyable experience. Deep breathing and relaxation techniques are combined with postures that are designed to increase flexibility and reduce stress and tension. Class is held in a quiet, darkened room with soft music. Students move at their own pace, in a gentle, non-competitive atmosphere. Class begins with the “wake up” routine, then goes into basic yoga postures and ends with relaxation and visualization which creates peace and wellbeing in body and mind. HEALTHY LIVING DIABETES PREVENTION PROGRAM The YMCA Diabetes Prevention Program is an evidence-based program recognized by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. This 12-month program is designed to help individuals with prediabetes reduce their risk of developing diabetes. The program is proven to reduce the risk of developing type 2 diabetes by more than 58-72%. Participants will: • Be placed in a group based on your own scheduling and location needs. • Meet one hour per week for 25 weekly, biweekly and monthly sessions. • Learn skills to lead a healthier lifestyle, including how to eat healthier, increase physical activity, and change your behavior. Note: Organized physical activity is not a part of the program. FEES: Additional fees apply. Financial assistance is available for individuals who qualify. This is a ballet class structured along the lines of a ballet technique class with special emphasis on stretching, flexibility, and muscle toning. No experience required. This program teaches the art of Tae Kwon Do along with minor segments borrowed from Yoga, Jiu-jitsu, and Shotokan. Students undergo moderate physical conditioning while learning basic techniques, followed by patterns that incorporate all the movements, self-defense for various situations, and one-on-one sparring in a controlled setting using protective equipment. Advanced levels receive board breaking and martial arts (wooden) weapons training. Advanced classes are Orange Belts and above. Increase comfort in the water as well as build endurance. This class is appropriate for those working to swim a length of the pool or take their feet off the bottom of the pool. We will focus on individualized results.

HYDRO-COMBINATION [02309] The shallow water portion is medium intensity and medium to high impact. The deep water portion is medium intensity and no impact. The aerobic portion of this 55 minute class is approximately 35 minutes long. FEES: Full Members are FREE. HYDRO-PUMP [02304] This is a 55 minute, medium to high intensity and impact aquaaerobic class held in the North Pool. The aerobic portion is 35 minutes. We will condition cardio, improve flexibility, shape and tone muscle as well as increase stamina and energy. FEES: Full Members are FREE. HYDRO-ZEN [02317] This class is suitable for all ages and fitness levels, and is designed to increase stability, balance, core strength, muscular endurance, flexibility, and mental focus. It combines the best of Yoga and Tai Chi in warm water. This mindbody connection happens in chest deep shallow water and is set to beautiful music. Aqua shoes are recommended. FEES: Full Members are FREE. HYDRO-CARDIO [02318] This class is designed to get your heart rate up and burn calories. DEEP WATER WORKOUT [02306] This is a medium intensity, no impact, aqua-aerobic class that is 55 minutes long and is held conducted in deep water. The aerobic portion varies from 35 to 45 minutes long. This program uses a buoyant belt or a pool noodle that allows participants to vertical train and to fully utilize the water’s property of natural resistance. Tuesday/Thursday classes are 45 minutes of cardio and 45 minutes of toning and flexibility. FEES: Full Members are FREE. AQUA ZUMBA ® This 45 minute class follows the traditional Zumba® format of Latin moves in the shallow water. The resistance of the water makes every salsa, merenge and reggaeton step a bit more challenging which helps your muscles work even harder! Combinations are slightly slower than a typical Zumba® class, but the energy is just as high. This class is good for people with an injury or joint problems. Class is held in the North Pool. YOUTH ENRICHMENT 3-DIMENSIONAL ART CLASS [04403] AGES: 8 years and older Join a really fun and creative three dimensional art class for girls and boys. This is a hands-on class where the student will start with the basics and work with paper-mâché and clay. YOUTH STRONG ENOUGH GROUP SESSIONS [01804] AGES: 11-13 years (Must be age 11 at the start of the program. Fourteen year old children will be admitted, space permitting.) Strong enough sessions are designed for youth who are ready to transition into the Adult Fitness Center. Classes will cover safety, etiquette, training techniques and form. In stage three, students learn how to swim to safety from a longer distance than in previous stages in the event of falling into a body of water. This stage also introduces rhythmic breathing and integrated arm and leg action.

SWIM TEAM The BRY Barracudas Swim Team is a competitive swimming program that promotes youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Participants build character values through personal improvement, training, goal-setting, teamwork and competition. The team competes in both YMCA and USA Swimming competitions locally, regionally and nationally. Practice levels are organized in a progression based on ability, commitment and experience. Swimmers progress as participants, role models and leaders within each level. PURPLE LEVEL AGES: 6 -12 Swimmers display three legal strokes, a fourth with reasonable proficiency, and are able to swim 50 yards of freestyle non stop. The focus of this group is to build stroke technique and endurance, and to promote participation in swim meets. Our Purple swimmers are encouraged to attend at least one of the two practices offered in addition to all stroke clinics. To move from Purple to Blue, swimmers must be able to demonstrate a legal 100 IM and swim at least 100 yards of freestyle nonstop with flip turns, and perform streamlines on a regular basis. Swimmers are introduced to the four YMCA core values and encouraged to exude these inside and outside of the competitive pool setting. Swimmers will have the opportunity to compete in short course and long course meets. Swimmers are introduced to the four YMCA core values and encouraged to exude these inside and outside of the competitive pool setting. Swimmers will have the opportunity to compete in short course and long course meets. They choose to display the four YMCA core values
in their daily interactions with peers, coaches, and the community. Swimmers are encouraged to attend three out of four practices offered each week, in addition to available stroke clinics. Participation in meets is highly recommended. Swimmers will have the opportunity to compete in short course and long course meets. Swimmers can perform a legal 400 IM and continuous swim of 800 yards of freestyle as well as demonstrate the ability to train at a consistent level as determined by the group’s lead coach. Race strategy and training are integral parts of the program, in addition to making adjustments to strokes, turns, and starts. This level is offered five practices of up to an hour and thirty minutes each per week. We would recommend an attendance of at least three out of the five practices to promote individual advancement and team development. Yellow swimmers are expected to attend all BRY Barracuda team functions and appropriate meets. Swimmers will have the opportunity to compete in short course and long course meets.

The goal of this level is to prepare the swimmers for success at YMCA and USA Swimming local, regional and state competitions. Swimmers in this level will focus on stroke technique in the early spring season and gradually transition over to training as the season goes on. Practice attendance is highly valued in this level and swimmers are encouraged to make a full year commitment to the Barracuda program as well as be able to train up to two hours. All Red swimmers are expected to attend short course and long course meets (if applicable). Swimmers must demonstrate their commitment, and ability to train at a high level on a consistent basis in order to be invited by the Head Coach to join the Varsity training level. Swimmers in this level are encouraged to maintain 65 percent practice attendance and make a full year commitment to the Barracuda program. The goal of this level is to prepare the swimmers for success at YMCA and USA Swimming regional, state, and national competitions. Swimmers are expected to attend all dryland sessions. All Varsity swimmers are expected to attend their season ending championship meets. Swimmers must demonstrate their commitment and ability to train at an elite level on a consistent basis in order to be invited by the Head Coach to join the National training level.
NATIONAL LEVEL AGES: 14 -18 The National training level is for swimmers who have demonstrated their ability, commitment and motivation to be the best they can be both in and out of the water. The goal of this level is to prepare the swimmers for success at YMCA and USA Swimming regional, state, and national competitions. Swimmers must be able to train at an elite level for at least two hours and fifteen minutes. Swimmers in this level are encouraged to maintain 70 percent practice attendance and make a full year commitment to the Barracuda program. In addition, swimmers are also required to attend all morning, dry-land and weight training sessions. All National level swimmers are expected to attend all season ending championship meets. Entry into this group will be on an invitation only basis by the Head Coach, and swimmers must adhere and sign a training agreement established by their peers.

STRONG ENOUGH GROUP SESSIONS [01804] AGES: 11-13 years (Must be age 11 at the start of the program. Fourteen year old children will be admitted, space permitting.) Strong enough sessions are designed for youth who are ready to transition into the Adult Fitness Center. Classes will cover safety, etiquette, training techniques and form. Admission to the Fitness Center is contingent upon: ability to demonstrate the skills learned in class, achieving a passing grade on the final exam and regular class attendance. The LIVESTRONG program supports the increasing number of cancer survivors who find themselves on the journey from completing their treatment to feeling physically and emotionally strong enough to return to normal life. These small group sessions are facilitated by certified YMCA instructors who assist participants in a variety of physical activity options including cardiovascular conditioning, strength training, balance and flexibility. LIVESTRONG creates a welcoming community in which survivors can develop supportive relationships and improve their qualify of life.

Any adult 18+ who is living with or beyond cancer treatment.

EMPOWERING FAMILIES TO LIVE HEALTHIER Healthy Weight and Your Child Program Healthy Weight and Your Child is a 12 month evidence-based program for children with obesity. The year long program empowers 7-13 year olds, with the support of their families, to reach a healthy weight and live a healthier lifestyle. This program includes a family information session and 16 weekly sessions, followed by 4 biweekly sessions, and 5 monthly sessions.
