Notification of a review of anti-dumping measures applicable to
EXPANDABLE POLYSTYRENE EXPORTED FROM THE REPUBLIC OF KOREA The Australian Customs Service (Customs) has accepted a request made by Huntsman Chemical Company Australia Limited, the local manufacturer of EPS, to review the normal values applicable to expandable polystyrene (EPS) exported from the Republic of Korea (Korea). Further, Customs has formed the opinion that factors relevant to the ascertainment of Non-injurious Free-on-Board prices (NIFOBs) for EPS exported from Korea have altered and therefore should also be reviewed. The goods covered by this review are translucent, non-integrally coloured, standard and flame retardant, first grade EPS beads between 0.35 mm and 1.7 mm in diameter. EPS is classified within sub-heading 3903.11.00, statisticai code 12, in Schedule 3 to the Customs Tariff Act
7995. The review will commence on 25 February 1998 and Customs will report within 85 days ie. by 21 May 1998. Australian Customs Dumping Notice (ACDN) No. 98/009 outlines the procedures for the Customs review. It is in the interest of parties concerned with this review to obtain a copy of that ACDN. Copies are available from the Publications Section, Customs House, Canberra or Customs Houses in each capital city. All interested parties are invited to lodge written submissions with Director Dumping Operations 1, 5 Constitution Avenue, Canberra, ACT 2601, no later than 3 April 1998.
