For more than 100 years, AAA has been a part of America’s love affair with the automobile. A commitment to freedom of mobility and public safety has guided AAA in its involvement in all issues related to transportation. AAA has worked to foster a safe environment for travelers through education, research and advocacy. Since its founding in 1902, AAA has been a leader in developing and supporting educational and safety programs for motorists, pedestrians, cyclists and children. At the national level, AAA promotes legislation such as graduated licensing laws to protect teen drivers and awareness programs and resources aimed at keeping seniors drivers safe. AAA regards public service on behalf of the traveling public as the cornerstone of what we are as an organization. Advocacy may not be the primary reason members join AAA, but we take our commitment to promote the safety and mobility of our members seriously!
